My brother and I believe that we were probably two of the earliest of Cletis' "kids"-- in the late 1940's. She remained a friend to my parents over the years, and as we had our families, they also knew of her-- her kind ways, her winning personality, and loving spirit. Her traits are remembered fondly, as when we think of the time Cletis helped out my parents while our children were here visiting, and she took them Trick or Treating.
We were pleased to have her over when we moved back to Henderson; she delighted in hearing about our grandchildren -- making four generations that knew this very dear, special lady.

My condolences to the Wallace family. Ms. Cletis has been a part of my life for over 30 years. She and my mother remained friends after Ms. Cletis retired and after my mom retired. Her words of wisdom and concern for me will forever be a part of my wonderful memory of her. We are blessed to have known a lady who loved life and most importantly children.

I am so sad to hear about Ms. Cletis. She meant so much to so many kindergarten children. I remember her walking me,with my dad, in on the first day of kindergarten. I always felt safe knowing Ms. Cletis was there at school with me. That was over 20 years ago and I will never forget that. She treated me and my brother as if we were her own.

Ms. Cletis, better known at Nanny in my house, was an amazing lady! My sons, Dustyn and Caleb, loved her and she became part of our family. Although we will miss her, I know she is in heaven watching over my boys and celebrating their triumphs and keeping watch over them when they fall. We love you Nanny, you will forever be in our hearts!

Ms. Wallace was a wonderful and kind person. She had a kind and giving heart. I remember when I was getting married, she called mother and said she wanted to speak with me. I did call her and we talked for awhile. Over the years when I was home, she may call and I would talk to her then as well, so those conversations I will forever cherish.
Ms. Wallace was a mother to many.

All My Best,

Cletis Wallace better known to my grandsons Dusty & Caleb Pike as "Nanny"! Nanny was an awesome lady that loved her "babies". Nanny took so much time and love in caring for them. I will never forget her putting a television in the bathroom to aid in potty training. She put a step stool by the bed so they could climb up into her big bed. She even made their baby food in a blender with real vegetables - no baby food in her house. I am so thankful the boys were able to see her recently. They didn't know it would be their last. She was definitely one of a kind. She was loved by so many children and will forever be a part of their memories. Thank you Nanny for all you did for our "babies".
